Which Upstate seasons need portable restrooms?
Six seasons drive most seasonal rentals in the Upstate: football in fall, youth ball in spring and fall, lake season in summer, hunting in fall and winter, harvest events in October, and Christmas tree lots in December. Most seasons last 1 to 4 cycles of 28 days.
| Season | Usual months | Typical sites | About how many 28-day cycles |
|---|---|---|---|
| Football | Late Aug to Nov | Private lots, church lots, farm fields near stadiums | 3 to 4 |
| Youth ball, spring | Mar to May | Rec fields, school fields | 3 |
| Youth ball, fall | Aug to Oct | Rec fields, soccer complexes | 3 |
| Lake season | May to Sep | Marinas, boat ramps, lake lots | 5 |
| Hunting | Fall to winter | Hunt clubs, camps, gate areas | 3 to 5 |
| Harvest | Late Sep to Oct | Pumpkin patches, corn mazes, farm days | 1 to 2 |
| Christmas trees | Late Nov to Dec | Tree lots, church lots | 1 |
Dates move year to year. Tell us your opening and closing days, and we will count the cycles for you.
How do you handle Clemson football season?
Football season units go on private lots, church lots and farm fields near Clemson for 3 to 4 cycles. Clemson Memorial Stadium seats 81,500, so lots fill fast on game days. Official university lots have their own tailgate rules, so get approval from the lot owner before placing a unit.

Clemson's official tailgate rules set a 9 × 23 foot space per placard and keep drive aisles clear. Those rules do not mention portable toilets, so a unit in an official lot needs approval. Private lots that sell parking are the usual home for a season unit.
- Place units at the lot edge, where our truck can reach them on weekdays.
- Add a service visit after each home game, on the next working day.
- Chain or stake units on windy lots.
Our post on Clemson tailgate porta potty planning covers counts per lot, and the Clemson rentals page covers delivery there.
What works for youth ball fields in spring and fall?
A youth ball field with 2 games running at once usually needs 2 standard units and 1 wheelchair-accessible unit for the season. Weekly service is included, and Saturday tournaments often add a Friday service visit. Most spring seasons run about 3 cycles of 28 days.
Ball fields get heavy use on weekends and light use on weekdays. We schedule weekly service late in the week so units are fresh for Saturday games.
- Set units near the concession stand but at least 10 feet from food.
- Pick a spot our truck can reach without driving on the outfield.
- Add a hand wash station for concession volunteers.
- Tell us about school gates and gate codes when you book.
What about lake season at Lake Hartwell?
Lake Hartwell covers about 56,000 acres, and boat ramps and marinas stay busy from May to September. A lake season rental runs about 5 cycles of 28 days. Ramp units should sit on firm ground above the high-water line, where a pump truck can park.
Lake lots and ramps bring steep drives and soft shoulders. Walk the drive before you book and tell us about grade and turnarounds.
- Marinas: a bank near the fuel dock and one near the parking area.
- Private lake lots: one unit near the dock path for summer weekends.
- Ramps used for tournaments: add units for event days only.
Our guide to Lake Hartwell event restrooms covers lake access roads in more detail.
What do hunting clubs, pumpkin patches and tree lots need?
Hunting clubs usually need 1 or 2 units at the camp or gate for 3 to 5 cycles. Pumpkin patches and corn mazes need 1 unit per 50 visitors at peak, plus hand wash for petting areas. Christmas tree lots usually need 1 unit for 1 cycle.
Farm and lot owners want a spot that stays dry and reachable after rain. Red clay roads rut fast in October storms.
| Site | Usual setup | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Hunt club camp | 1 to 2 standard units | Put units near the skinning shed, on gravel |
| Pumpkin patch weekend | 2 to 6 units plus hand wash | Hand wash near animals and food |
| Corn maze at night | Units near the entry, lit | Add solar stake lights on the path |
| Christmas tree lot | 1 standard unit | Place behind the trailer or shed for staff |
Fields that move each year do well with a towable unit on a trailer, which we can reposition when asked.
How is season-long pricing figured?
Season pricing uses 28-day cycles. Count the days from delivery to pickup, divide by 28, and round up to get the number of cycles. A 90-day football season is 4 cycles. The first cycle also carries a one-time delivery fee, and pickup has no removal fee.
- Pick your delivery date, a few days before opening.
- Pick your pickup date, a few days after closing.
- Count the days between and divide by 28.
- Round up to get the number of cycles.
- Add one delivery fee for the first cycle, plus tax.
Cycle prices for each unit are on the rental cost guide. The cycle details are on the monthly rental page.
What happens when temperatures drop below freezing?
Anderson's average January low is 32.5°F, so winter units can freeze overnight. From December to February, we add a non-freeze additive to the tank or adjust the service plan. Hand wash stations freeze first, so winter sites may get sanitizer only.
A frozen tank cannot be pumped until it thaws. A frozen hand wash pump can crack. A little planning avoids both.
- Tell us if your site stays open after Thanksgiving.
- Choose a sunny, wind-sheltered spot for winter units.
- Hunting camps and tree lots get the additive by default from December on.
Questions renters ask before booking
Can we get service twice a week in season and less in winter?
Service schedules can change by season. Weekly service is included in each 28-day cycle, and extra visits during busy months are quoted per visit. Service never drops below weekly while the unit is out.
How much would a unit cost for the whole football season?
A 4-cycle football season for one standard unit starts at $155 per cycle, so about $620, plus a one-time delivery fee starting at $45 and tax. Extra post-game visits are quoted. The itemized season quote is the final price.
Can a porta potty go in a Clemson tailgate lot?
Private lots allow units with the owner's permission. Official university lots have their own tailgating rules, so ask the lot manager before booking.
Can you get a truck to the ball field behind the school?
Our trucks reach most school fields through a service gate or a gravel lane. Send the gate code or a contact for the gate, plus a photo of the path.
Will the unit freeze in January?
Units can freeze on nights below 32°F. From December through February we add a non-freeze additive or adjust service so the tank stays workable.
Can you set up the same spot again every spring?
Repeat seasons are easy. Call a few weeks before opening day, and we deliver to the same spot with the same setup as last year.
Does a pumpkin patch need a hand wash station?
Any pumpkin patch with farm animals or food needs soap and water. One two-station hand wash covers up to 4 toilets, and starts at $95 for an event.
