Can you pump my RV's black tank at my house?

Our pump truck empties RV black and gray tanks at your home on the route day for your area. Most RV black tanks hold about 30 to 50 gallons. Tell us the tank sizes and where the RV is parked, and we confirm the route day by text.

Living in an RV at home means no dump station down the street. Hauling the camper to a dump station every few days wears out the rig and your patience. A pump-out at the driveway solves that.

  1. Call or text with the address, tank sizes and RV location on the lot.
  2. We tell you the route day for your area.
  3. Leave the sewer outlet cap reachable and the valves closed.
  4. The technician connects, pumps and rinses the hose.
  5. You get a text when the job is done.

How do recurring pump-outs work while we live in the camper?

Recurring pump-outs follow a fixed schedule, usually once every 1 or 2 weeks, based on tank size and the number of people. A couple in a camper with a 40-gallon black tank often needs a weekly visit. You can change or pause the schedule with 1 day's notice.

Water use drives the schedule more than anything else. Showers fill the gray tank fast. Short showers and a dishpan stretch the time between visits.

These schedules are starting points. We adjust after the first two visits based on how full the tanks are.

How should I get the RV ready for a pump-out?

Getting an RV ready takes 4 steps: close both tank valves a day ahead, leave the sewer outlet cap reachable, clear a path for the hose, and unlock any gate. Full tanks pump faster and cleaner than half-empty tanks. Most visits take about 15 to 30 minutes.

  1. Close the black and gray valves so the tanks fill and flush well.
  2. Uncover the sewer outlet and remove any old hose.
  3. Clear a path from the drive to the outlet, free of cars and toys.
  4. Unlock the gate or text us the code, and keep dogs inside.

Use RV-safe toilet paper and a tank treatment between visits. Wipes, paper towels and grease clog the tank and the pump hose. If the tank sensor reads wrong, tell the technician, and we will note the real level after pumping.

Is a porta potty or a pump-out schedule better during a rebuild?

A porta potty beside the camper costs less per cycle and needs no tank work from you. A pump-out schedule keeps the RV toilet in use. Many families do both: 1 standard unit for daytime use and a pump-out every 1 to 2 weeks for the RV.

House rebuilds after a fire or storm often run 3 to 9 months. A monthly porta potty rental keeps workers out of the camper, and our post on porta potties during a home remodel covers placement.

What does the pump truck need to reach my RV?

The pump truck needs a firm lane at least 10 feet wide, within hose reach of the RV sewer outlet. Tell us the distance from the driveway to the RV in feet. Wet red clay can trap a loaded truck, so a gravel drive or dry ground matters after Upstate rain.

  • Park the RV with the sewer outlet facing the drive when you can.
  • Keep the lane clear of cars, trailers and low branches.
  • Tell us about gates, gate codes and dogs in the yard.
  • After heavy rain, we may wait a day rather than rut your yard.

Our post on red clay and placement explains why Upstate yards get soft so fast.

Where does the waste go?

All waste goes to approved disposal facilities under SCDES Regulation 61-56.1. South Carolina licenses businesses that clean self-contained toilets. The rule also requires a written record of each cleaning, kept for at least 2 years, with the date, address, amount and disposal site.

Dumping RV waste in a ditch, a storm drain or a home septic cleanout can harm wells and creeks. A licensed pump-out keeps the waste out of the ground and on paper.

Read the rule at the SCDES R.61-56.1 regulation (PDF). SCDES was formerly known as DHEC.

What about guests' campers at a reunion or event?

Guests who bring campers to a reunion, wedding or tournament can share 1 pump-out visit at the end of the event. A field of 5 campers with 40-gallon tanks holds about 200 gallons. Pair that visit with porta potties so camper tanks fill slower during the weekend.

Weekend campers fill tanks fast, especially when a whole family stays in each rig. A few porta potties near the campers take most of the daytime load.

  • Book porta potties for the event using the event restroom page.
  • Add one pump-out visit on Monday after guests leave, or on Saturday for long stays.
  • List the number of campers and tank sizes when you ask for a quote.

Questions renters ask before booking

Do you pump RVs or campers at a residence, and can it be recurring?

We pump RV and camper tanks at homes on the route day for your area. Recurring service works on a weekly or every-other-week schedule. Call or text to set it up, and change the schedule when your plans change.

How much is it to pump out a camper's black tank?

Pump-outs are quoted by tank size, distance and route day. Send the address and tank sizes, and we text a price within 30 minutes during business hours. Recurring visits are listed as one line per visit on the itemized quote.

We're living in a camper while the house is repaired. What does a porta potty cost per month?

A standard unit beside the camper starts at $155 per 28-day cycle, with weekly service included and a first-cycle delivery fee starting at $45. Deluxe flushing units for long stays are quoted. Your itemized quote is final.

Do you pump septic tanks too?

We pump portable toilets and RV holding tanks, not in-ground septic tanks. For a septic tank, call a licensed septic contractor. A porta potty from us can cover the house while the septic gets fixed.

Do I need to be home for the RV pump-out?

You do not need to be home when the sewer outlet is reachable, the valves are closed and the gate is open. The technician texts when the pump-out is done.

Can I dump my RV tank into one of your porta potties?

Dumping RV tanks into a porta potty overfills the unit and makes a mess. A pump-out visit is the clean way to empty the RV, and the porta potty stays for daily use.
